Liz went to India with Wildlife SOS and Save the Asian Elephants to investigate the plight of India's captive temple elephants, it was the most awful and harrowing experience to see the cruelty these animals live with. The work these charities do is truly wonderful.

Liz has a long association with the Celia Hammond Animal Trust in East London. Her beloved Susie and Sweetie both came from Celia and many years later Liz adopted five ferals who soon appreciated nice treats and warm beds. Celia does amazing work: please do take a look if you are looking for a feline friend to adopt or can support the valuable work they do.
Liz travelled with K-9 Angels to Romania to learn about their work rescuing, rehoming and neutering starving street dogs and fell in love with a little old scrap of a dog no one thought would survive: Hilda. The angels and Liz rescued her and another young very scared dog called Spot. Hilda spent the rest of her days with Liz spoilt, loved and very happy with a full belly and warm lap. Spot has grown into a big beautiful girl who just loves her life. Please see the wonderful work these ladies do and maybe find your new best friend.

Liz went with the Brooke charity to Ethiopia to do an article about their work and was heartbroken at the conditions she witnessed. The Brooke's work is invaluable and Liz witnessed first hand the significance of the practical help they give and the difference it makes to both the animals and their owners.
